The honest answer is that almost nobody quotes the same way, which is why comparing movers in Dallas is so annoying.
Nearly every local mover in DFW charges an hourly rate multiplied by crew size, with a minimum of two hours. So the headline rate tells you very little on its own. What decides your bill is how many people come, how long it takes, and what gets added at the end.
Crew size is the big one, and bigger is usually cheaper. Four people at a higher hourly rate finishing in five hours beats two people finishing in eleven. After that it is the things nobody mentions on the phone: which floor, how far the truck can park from the door, whether the elevator works, and how much is in the garage.
Ask every mover you call whether the rate includes fuel, the truck, blankets, shrink wrap, dollies, floor runners, stairs and tax. Ask whether there is a travel or drive-time charge on top. Ask what happens if it runs over the estimate. A cheaper hourly rate with five additions is usually the more expensive move, and you find that out at the end.

No. Anywhere in the Dallas area the hourly rate is the whole bill. The truck, the fuel, the blankets, the equipment, the stairs however many flights, and the tax are all in it.
The one exception is a move outside the Dallas area, which carries a truck fee, and we tell you what it is before you book.
